Fond memories of watching Sailor Moon after school with my little sister come to mind when finding out that those perfectly shaped spheres that adorned Serena's head are called "odango", a Japanese word meaning "dumpling". Serena (aka Sailor Moon) was often called "meatball head", in the American series, but "odango-atama" or "dumpling head" would have been more accurate.
